Area Information

Located in the heart of the Deep South, this majestic setting of Southern culture offers all the services of a big city with the warmth and history that comes with a small town. Oxford, MS is located 1 hour from Memphis, 2 hours from Jackson, and 3 hours from Birmingham, and just a few hours from the Emerald coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The lay of the land is just what you would expect from a town located in the South, with rolling hills, giant century old oak trees, and a tremendous heritage. Located in our town is the University of Mississippi home of the Ole Miss Rebels, one of the finest Division 1 schools in the country.

Oxford, MS has been named:

Oxford is filled with culture. We are home to some of the greatest musicians, artists, musicians, and writers; William Faulkner, John Grisham, Willie Morris, to name a few.

A dynamic part of Oxford is "The Square". In April of each year the Double Decker Festival brings artists, craftspeople, musicians, great southern food and visitors from all over the world. Anytime of the year offers an opportunity to stroll around the square and enjoy some of the fine shops, great restaurants, and listen to some fine music.

Oxford Mississippi has grown in a way that has preserved our tree-lined streets and the great scenery. Trees and green space are as essential and important here as are good schools and safe neighborhoods. The combination of antebellum architecture and rich southern history, provides a picturesque atmosphere that is both delightful and distinctly southern.

There are too many things to mention about our great town, the best thing to do is just come see us and we are pretty sure you'll come back again and again, and hopefully will one day call Oxford home. We look forward to seeing you soon.
